The MOMS Club is a volunteer based organization. The Club would not be able to function without moms like you helping out. All positions are filled by members including the Executive Board and Coordinators.
Each spring, the MOMS Club holds an election for the Executive Board. The Executive Board includes the following positions:
- President – with the help of the other board members, guides the Club
to fulfill the mission of the MOMS Club as set by MOMS Club International, our
parent organization. Presides over the
business meetings and works as a liaison with other organizations and the community
- Vice President of
Administration – supports the President, coordinates the annual service
project, schedules speakers and activities for the monthly business meeting.
- Vice President of Membership
– responsible for advertising the MOMS Club in the community, recruiting new
- Treasurer – maintains the
club’s budget & check book, tracks membership dues, completes financial
reports for the IRS and MOMS Club International.
- Secretary – takes notes at
the business meeting and posts them to website. Supports the other board
members as needed.
After the election, the newly elected board members take over beginning July 1st. MOMS Club International has a fiscal year running from July 1st through June 30th, which is why our board takes the reins in July. The Executive Board is responsible for following the rules set out by MOMS Club International and for maintaining the integrity of the Front Royal Chapter.
Children are welcome at all MOMS Club activities and events, although we highly encourage moms to attend MOMS Night Out without the kids. MOMS Night Out is the one evening activity where the children are generally left at home so you can relax. The exception to this, of course, is that nursing babies are expected and welcome. The positions that are not part of the Executive Board but crucial to the MOMS Club are the following:
- Activity Day Coordinator – responsible
for planning our monthly activity day and coordinating travel plans on the
selected date. The Activity Day Coordinator forwards the information to the
Newsletter Editor by the specified deadline.
Past activity days include local animal parks, farms, orchards, museums,
and water parks.
- MOMS Night Out (MNO)
Coordinator – responsible for the planning of the MNO and forwarding the
information to the Newsletter Editor by the specified deadline. This is one of
the only events that is scheduled during the evening hours and is usually just
for the ladies and nursing babies. Past evenings included dinner at a local
restaurant, going to the movie theater, as well as low or no cost evenings held
at one of the mom’s houses to watch a movie, play games and even a book &
- Newsletter Editor – with the
assistance of the President, the Newsletter Editor collects all of the club
information and creates a monthly newsletter.
Submissions for the following month’s newsletter are due around the
third week of the month and this is noted on the current month’s newsletter.
- Play Date Coordinator –
responsible for requesting and coordinating play dates at member’s homes and
forwarding the information to the Newsletter Editor by the specified deadline.
The Club as a whole participates in a program called MOMS In Need. When a member needs a little extra support such as when a new baby arrives, a mom needs help after surgery, or other family issues, our chapter offers weekly meals, babysitting or whatever it is that helps the family. The entire membership works together to take care of the family.
